Ethos
Berresford Architecture is a residential architecture practice based in Thirroul, NSW.
The practice works with houses, alterations and small buildings, with an interest in restraint, climate and the quiet potential of ordinary construction. We are drawn to simple materials, careful planning and buildings that do more with less.
Our work begins with judgement: what can be retained, repaired, reduced or made more useful? Often the strongest architectural move is not the largest one, but the clearest.
Through close collaboration with clients, builders and consultants, we make architecture that is calm, durable and deeply lived-in. Buildings shaped by light, landscape, daily rituals and the practical realities of construction.
